Book Review – Twins of Prey by W.C. Hoffman

Although I was surprised when author W.C. Hoffman reached out to me in order to review his new book, “Twins Of Prey,” I was very happy to do it. While I had seen excerpts and postings about the book, I had not looked in depth to really see what the book was about. Hoffman’s response was that it was right up my alley. After reading it, I see he was right.

The book, “Twins Of Prey,” is the first in the series and proves itself as being an exciting starting point for the series. It starts with the twins, Drake and Tomek, being introduced to Uncle after tragedy takes their mother from them. The character, Uncle, takes the boys and teaches them how to survive and shows them exactly what that truly means.

One thing that Hoffman has done in his writing, is drip survival techniques and tips throughout the pages and some that really cause the reader to think. Although the skill may seem questionable at the time, we find that no skill is wasted on the children because as they grow up, their lives are in danger from one thing that Uncle was most cautious about.

Throughout the pages, we are taken down the twist and turns of a long narrow road that will drop you into the middle of a place you did not see coming. Part of this is due to well built characters along with the ideal storytelling, which really helped develop some of the unexpected turns.

I look forward to the next book in the series. Although you can hear the author read the first chapter from the next book on YouTube, I do not necessarily recommend doing that if you have not read the first book.

If you’re looking for an easy read and a book you cannot put down, I highly recommend “Twins of Prey”. I am very thankful that I was able to review it and look forward to the same chance with the second one, pending its release.
